Headquarters Beercade Rocks!

Ohhh man. We already loved Headquarters Beercade as customers, so it was no surprise that they were equally awesome in our partnership while we hosted our pop-up shop at their Lakeview location on May 17th. Shoutout to Lera for actually letting us set up or rag tag shop in your lovely establishment! When Jeff and I were figuring out ways to share our Snort Invaders and Snort Tron litters with fellow retro video game fans, we agreed having a pop-up shop at Headquarters would be THE dream. Well, dear Monsters, HQ makes dreams come true! It was a super Snortastic event, so we sincerely appreciate all of the support of our friends and new fans for checking us out.

The big important factor for this event was raising money to support a rescue very near and very dear to our hearts: The Chicago French Bulldog Rescue. The CFBR brought our Ariel into our lives, and we wanted to help bring other Frenchies in need into the lives of future Frenchie moms and dads – all while having fun, of course!

All of our pop-up shops are near and dear to our Snorty hearts, but this was especially exciting for us since it was our first event outside of a doggie-centric location.

Huge shoutout goes to Kasey Blaustein of Kasey Jones, Ink. for providing her creative talents in the form of hand-drawn and lettered chalkboards! She’s lent her talents to some big names out there, so we’re honored to have her artwork be a permanent part of our pop-up shop. Check out her work here and give her some love!

Another shoutout goes to the perfectly personable and fun-to-hang-with Michelle Cox of Michelle Cox Photography for capturing our biggest event yet!

Did you catch us at the event? If so, drop us a comment, and say hi! Also, where would you like to see us host a Snort Monster pop-up shop next? In the meantime, check out some photos below. Thanks for reading, and SNORT ON!

Isn't this the perfect place to play all day? The only thing missing are Snort Monsters running around everywhere! Also, we love that now-classic Headquarters neon sign. Both HQ and Peter Pan have given the world fair warning.

Our helper for the day was Jeff's sister, Lynda! She's rocked booths before, so she's definitely the seasoned expert in this picture.

Shoutout to Kasey Jones, Ink for hooking us up with her beautiful hand-drawn artwork to help introduce us to more customers at our booth! How cute are those caricatures, amiright??

Here's the other chalkboard by Kasey Jones, ink. She illustrated the Snort Monster design and print process. We're dorking out over these perfectly creative pieces!

Our pop-up shop event took place during the first game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so HQ made sure all guests caught the action on the screens. (The Blackhawks lost to the Ducks that day, but we all know how that Championship turned out for our Hawks!)

We were going to give our donations to the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue at the end of the day regardless of whether or not they would be available for the event, so it was quite the honor to have CFBR volunteers come out to support in person!

The theme of the day was, "Drink and Play!" All for the Frenchies, of course. (Of course.)

A trip to the arcade just isn't complete without Pac-Man! (Mr. or Ms. – whatever floats your Pac-Man boat!)
